VOCAB LIST!!

As I'm pretty sure every one is going to be doing a blog on Wuthering Heights, because, well, that's all we've been doing pretty much, I'm going to switch it up and talk about something else in English.

The problem is the aforementioned "that's all we've been pretty much doing". No offense to Wuthering Heights of course, it's a pretty good read, except it's difficult in some parts.

Anyway, if I am to follow through on the not blog about Wuthering Heights thing, my choices are limited to setting up Skydrive and vocab list.

Vocab list it is then. It'll be good practice for my upcoming test whenever that is. Hopefully.

Well, let's get on with it.

In the 5th movie Pokemon Heroes, Altomare is a small island off Johto, that doesn't appear to have much going for it. It's like any other small city in the Pokemon world really, there isn't much interesting about it, other than it's scenery. One might call it an insipid place.

But it's not. Not at all. Altomare actually houses two legendary Pokemon that are akin to each other, that is to say these Pokemon are brother and sister. Latios and Latias. These Pokemon show intense ardor toward the city, protecting it and it's inhabitants through many natural disasters.

Altomare's people also do their best to protect their city, unlike some other residential areas, and built a defense mechanism to protect themselves if the guardians are not able to do so. The defense mechanism is powerful as it runs on a mysterious form of energy-a soul dew, located in a pond where Latios and Latias live. The people's myths state that the soul dew is actually the spirit of Latios and Latias's father. But it is impossible for them to corroborate it. That isn't to say they don't try.

On one particular day, Altomare holds the Tour de Altomare, an event which Competitors line up at the edge of the island and use the city's waterways to navigate their way to the opposite end, using a water chariot pulled by a water type Pokemon. Two of our main characters, Ash (with his Totodile) and Misty (with Corsola) both participate in this water race, while Brock watches, having no water Pokemon at the time.

Although he is in good shape for most of the race, Ash speeds to fast on one turn and loses control flying off his water chariot. He is about to crash into a wall when Latias, who is invisible, flies in front of him stopping him and letting him fall safely in the water. Ash is confused for a split-second before deciding that winning the race is more important and gets back on his chariot. As he tries to steer though, Latias, who is still invisible, grabs the rope that Totodile was attached to and uses her jet like wings to sped him up tremendously. In the final leg of the race, Ash caught up despite losing a lot of time with his fall and is seemingly about to win when Latias trolls him by steering the rope into a wrong turn. Misty ends up winning the race by an inch over the second-place winner Ross.

After the race, the gang decides to get ice cream because it happens to be quite torrid in the island. Pikachu, however, wants none of that because he is a boss and decides to wander aimlessly down a narrow alley instead. At the end of the alley there is a clearing where someone is using a faucet so that their Pokemon can drink form it. The person leaves and Pikachu rushes up. The person turned it off though and Pikachu is not tall enough to turn on the faucet so he gets his sad on. Luckily though, a random girl comes up and turns it on. Pikachu then lets out a squeak of delight and drinks and baths himself in the faucet. Ash runs up and the girl gets all right up in his personal space, but merely examines him, not saying a word. Then she skips away.

Enter the nefarious Team Rocket, where two of their members- Annie and Oakley, plan to steal the soul dew and capture Latios and Latias for their boss. While cruising along the river, They use their special goggles and identify the girl as Latias (who by the way, looks hilarious walking with the glasses on). They unleash their Pokemon (an Ariados and Espeon) at her and Latias, surprised they saw through her disguise, runs away.

Meanwhile Ash and Pikachu has apparently not moved from the faucet as Pikachu hears the commotion and charges, Ash following. Annie and Oakley's Pokemon corner Latias, but Ash and Pikachu save the day by thunderbolting everything and leading Latias away. Latias leads Ash to his friends, who want to visit the museum, and then disappears

Brock and Misty  become suppliants, wanting to know about the city's history. They head to the museum, where the the museum head Lorenzo is able to answer their questions and reveals the city's defense mechanism, the DMA.

"ZOMG WTF?!"

Ash get distracted again, seeing the same girl (but not Latias) from earlier, painting, and proceeds to chase her. The girl does not recognize him and leaves him. Ash loses her quickly, but sees Latias, looking exactly like the girl he was chasing. So he chases her. Latias leads her to her secret garden, which Latios is none to happy about. Then the girl Ash was originally chasing shows up and things get awkward. Just as she is about to command Latios blast Ash into a thousand pieces, Lorenzo randomly shows up somehow, and tells them to not do that. Lorenzo turns to the second girl Ash chased and asks if she wants to play with Ash, addressing her as Latias. Latias nods and leads a confused Ash to a swing. Ash confusedly states he thought Latias was a Pokemon. And then the girl transforms into Latias and Ash face-plants on the ground in surprise.

Anyway, a bunch of character development happened, but I'm too lazy to put all that down, so i'll just summarize it. Hey, I put more words down than practically anyone else in these blogs.

Ash develops a close relationship with Latias and eventually Latios and Bianca (the girl Latias pretends to be) as well. Annie and Oakley are revelaed to be tracking Latias's movements and the infamous trio of Jessie, James, and Meowth provide comic relief, before blasting off again like they do in every episode. It's getting to be a tedium.

Now stuff goes down. Annie and Oakley track Latias while she's out skipping in human form during the day and follow her to the secret garden at night. Latios charges at them like a bull and gets caught with an electric net. Latias sees this and tries to help, but Latios tells her to run away. Latios interferes with Team Rockets attempts to capture her and she manages to escape. The nefarious duo then takes the soul dew out of the pond and leave to the museum, knocking out Lorenzo and Bianca on the way.

Latias flies to Ash and urgently wakes him. Ash dosn't know what's going on but he follows her out. Brock and Mist meet Latias for the first time, but that's not important. What's important is Team Rocket (specifically Oakley, Annie is a bit clueless about the whole thing) has hold of the DMA and plan to take over the world with it. Latias use telepathy to show Ash what's going on and they hurridly rush outside. Team Rocket use the DMA to track their movements and flood the city to try and stop them. They try to trap them by setting the city in lockdown. Then they send an Aerodactyl and a Kabutops at them. Ash gets knocked around a bit and at one point Latias has to save him from drowning, but his inexorable nature lets him keep going. Eventually Annie sends a giant tidal wave at them. Latias turns into a ball and destroys the tidal wave, also destroying the DMA control panel in the process, because the DMA failed to do its job.

Oh NO! Brother :(

Things now seem despondent, as there seems to be no way to stop the DMA. Team Rocket in fact, does little as Ash frees Lorenzo and Bianca. Pikachu tries to thunderbolt Latios free, but he is stuck. Latias then flies over and tries to headbutt him free. Ash, Bianca, and Lorenzo all chip in and finally nudge him free. Then the machine stops. Team Rocket is surprised and decide to take the soul dew and make a getaway. However, the soul dew is now dead because it stayed away from the water too long and once they touch it, the DMA goes crazy and water starts draining from the city's rivers. Team Rocket, is blown into the DMA and they go out of action. The water comes back in a gigantic tidal wave that would destroy Altomare with its force.

Knowing that Altomare is in danger, Latios and Latia use their guardian nature and fly out into the natural disaster and uses all his skills to put a stop to it. Fortuantly, they manages to stop it but unfortunately, Latios was too wounded and dies. Not to worry though, because his soul turns into a brand new soul dew finally corroborating the myths of the city. The gang rushes to put the soul dew into the pond and protect the city from imminent doom.

Latios is dead. :/

Ash, Misty, and Brock then leaves Altomare, but before he does he says bye to Lorenzo and Bianca. Bianca does not appear to be there however, so Ash tells Lorenzo to say thanks when he sees her.

But as they leave, he sees Bianca on a bridge and calls the boat driver to pull over. Ash calls out to her and she rushes up to him. She hands him a piece of paper.

She then makes out with him for a full 8 seconds. True story.

Of course, since she does not say anything, it could also be Latias. As Misty says. But one thing is for certain.

There was sure one torrid kiss.



So how'd I do? If I messed up one of the words, tell me. If I messed up something about the movie..nah, who am I kidding? Not one of you has watched this movie.
