Wuthering Pokemon...I guess?

Ugh. I really hoped that we were going to do something else in English class. But no, looks like I can't avoid it. I'm going to have to compare Pokemon to Wuthering Heights.

There are a few reasons why I don't want to do this. One, I kinda don't like Wuthering Heights. Sorry. I mean even just typing it on this blog, the stupid red line keeps appearing under it. I don't know how to use spell-check on this site either, so I can't tell it to ignore all. All I can do is add to dictionary. That stinks. But the main reason I don't like the book, is that it's slow. The syntax is hard to understand and most of the time I find myself not knowing what's going on. I mean, I guess I get the gist of it, Heathcliff likes Catherine but she marries Edgar and Edgar's sister likes Heathcliff, but Heathcliff ain't down with that, but goes through with it anyway. Then they have kids and more events transpire. Why does this book have two Catherines? Is it trying to be infuriating?

The second reason I don't want to do this comparison is that there is nothing in Pokemon that I can relate to Wuthering Heights. Okay, there may be one thing in the 800+ episodes that have aired on TV, but guess what, and I know this comes as a real shock to some people:

I haven't watched all the episodes of Pokemon.

I don't know who this is.

So I can't tell you if there is.

So there is only one way that I feel I can actually compare Pokemon to Wuthering Heights and that way is this:

IMAGINATION.

So I'm going to be writing a short story, that will pretty much tell you what I got from Wuthering Heights, except I am going to use Pokemon as the characters. Are you scared? I am. By the way, I have not read the final chapters due tomorrow yet so I don't know how it ends. So that'll be missing. I plan to start on that after I finish my blog and my other homework because I am really not looking forward to reading it.

Anyway, onward to the story.

Ash was walking along route ??? when all of a sudden, a sudden thunderstorm came up. 

"Ugh" He said. "I got to find a Pokemon shelter!"

But there was no Pokemon Center nearby. All there was in the route ??? was a couple of creepy looking houses that were built 5000000000000000 years ago and somehow had people living in them. Ash came up to one of the houses and knocked. 

"Hey can I find some shelter here?"

Heathcliff...I mean Brock opened the door and squinted at him. Ash immediately liked Brock because he felt they somehow had the same views of the world, despite him only meeting him a few seconds ago and he quickly leaned in and started to make out-

Wait, what the heck am I doing? That never happened....uh...time skip?

"Tell me the story" Ash insisted, having nothing else to do because one of the mansion's Houndour bit his leg off a few seconds ago.

"Whatever." Nurse Joy said. "I am going to tell you a story in first-person point of view for the next hundred chapters so that the readers will get confused a bit. Then I will randomly cut off and time skip at some points to further confuse the readers."

"Fine with me," Ash replied.

"Yes, well I was a servant here at this mansion for many years and stuff." Nurse Joy started, deciding it was okay to tell her life story to a random stranger. "This mansion by the way, is called Aqua Heights. The mansion over there is called Magma Grange. Those are the creative names that Art came up with (Oh, you.) And they each have one family living in them, and no other residents for miles. Anyway, Brock was adopted by the owner of Aqua Heights, Archie. Archie had two children. One of them was Misty, who fell in love with Brock. The other was Bob Saget. He hated Brock's guts."

"Wow, what happened next?" Ash inquired.

"Shut up. You don't talk that much for like twenty more chapters" Nurse Joy informed him. "Anyway, Misty and Brock were the best of friend and had many adventurous exploits in their own yard. One day they decided to go over to Magma Grange to laugh at the people there or something. Only problem was, the people in Magma Grange were much more sophisticated then the people here at Aqua Heights, so they got jealous. There were two Magma Grange children. One was the son Ritchie. And the daughter was Kim Kardashian. The Aqua kids got so mad that the Magma children were fighting over a Poocheyana, they wanted to hurt them in some way. Then Misty got her leg bit by the Poocheyana. That caused the good folks over at Magma to have to take care of her while Brock went back to tell me.

All of a sudden time skip, because nothing else important happens during those years. So here's the thing, Brock and Misty love each other, and are destined to be with each other. But Misty realizes that it's a lot of fun to be rich like the Magmas, so she decides that even though she loves Brock, she'll marry Ritchie, because he's rich. (See what I did there?) Brock gets mad and leaves the place. Then he comes back and Misty is happy to see him. Ritchie isn't happy that Misty is happy to see him. Brock and Ritchie get into a fight. Misty starts to go a little loopy and starves herself because that;s how you solve any issue. During this time, Bob Saget marries someone who dies and gets his anger on and neglects his son, Harry Potter. Heathcliff does some deep plotting and decides to marry Kim Kardashinan, who loves him, because she is part of the Lintons and Brock can get some money of her. Brock abuses Kim Kardashian. Misty and Richie have a daughter named young Misty. Not to be outdone, Brock and Kim Kardashian have a son named Geodude. But then a bunch of things happen  and during this time a lot of people die. Geodude has become very sickly, so young Misty tries to nurses him to health, although it really doesn't help all too much. Brock notices if he can get Geodude to marry Ritchie's daughter he will get very rich. So he kind of forces the marriage between Young Misty and Geodude to happen. Brock then tells Geodude that Young Misty is using him for his money. Geodude now hates young Misty. Ritchie dies and now Brock has all the money, because the lawyer that Ritchie hired ignored his desires to keep the money away from Geodude. And that's pretty much Wuthering Heights in a nutshell." Nurse Joy finished.

"What's Wuthering Heights?" Ash asked confused.

"I don't know," Nurse Joy answered. "Do you want to make out?"

Ash shrugged and leaned in...

AHEM

So, yeah that's pretty much what I got from the story. I'd say I'm good to go.

Let's not take any more reading comprehension quizzes in class again.

Revisiting Mr. Adams's Speech class

I don't really even remember what we did in English the last two days. We had a quiz and another quiz. Some multiple choice....thing. And that's all I can remember. So I guess I'm going to continue to write about the 5th Pokemon movie, because I wrote about it last time and I want to continue.

And I've had this song stuck in my head ever since I rewatched a week ago. I don't know why? It's not even that catchy...or is it?

Anyway, I going to make this blog about debate, because that's a thing that many English people do.

I'm going to be debating the kiss scene. Who was it? Latias? Or Bianca?

To be honest, the producer most likely intentionally made it ambiguous, so that the viewers can make their own decisions. He succeeded because this is one of the few things Pokemon fans debate over.

Incidentally, do you guys know what shipping is?

In short, it's the term used when a viewer pictures two fictional characters as a romantic couple. If you have ever watched a movie and been like "Oh, thos two should totally end up together." You have done shipping.

Two popular shippings in Pokemon are Altoshipping (The pairing of Ash and Latias-bestiality for the win) and Mareshipping (The pairing of Ash and Bianca). So it is clear that both sides have their believers.

So I will now attempt to convince you guys why these sides believe it was one of them, and not just a Ditto.

Okay time to rust up my old speech class gears. In the debate unit we did a case argument for each side and then a rebuttal to each side. So that's the format I'm going to use. We'll start with Latias, the more popular shipping of the two and in my opinion, the more likely. But I am impartial in this particular debate. So let's get it started.

Why it was Latias:

1. She was already fond of Ash when she met him, while Bianca tried to hurt him
2. She saved his life a few times
3. In the kiss scene, the girl did not talk, Latias cannot talk
4. In the kiss scene, the girl was not wearing a hat. Bianca wore her hat all the time in the movie
5. In the kiss scene, the girl does an abnormal hand movement with the paper, lifting it twice.
6. Latias goes to Ash first when her brother is captured
7. In the kiss scene the girl kisses Ash on the cheek, Pokemon tend to lick cheeks when they are affectionate. 

Why it was Bianca

1. Bianca quickly became Ash's friend after she realized Ash did not mean to harm Latios
2. The girl gives him a drawing. Bianca is shown to be a skilled artist. 
3. The girl is out of breath. Had it been Latias, who flies around all day, she would probably had been less fatigued.
4. Ash saves Bianca first when Latias leads them to Team Rocket.  This may have caused her to feel he is a hero. 
5. Had it been Latias, why did Latias take the shape of Bianca?
6. The girl makes more sense because....Pokemon x Human is just weird...
7. Lorenzo tells Ash that Bianca was headed toward the supermarket, but Bianca did not take her signature hat, when she is seen taking the drawing. If Bianca had already left for the supermarket, she would have taken her hat and therefore there would be no hat in her room. 

Rebuttal to Latias

1. Latias was fond, but Pokemon are shown to get fond easily. 
2. She is the guardian of Altomare, it is her duty to make sure no harm comes to residents in her city
3. It is possible Bianca was too caught up in the moment, or was simply out of breath because she did not have the stamina
4. See 7 for case argument
5. She may have a hesitation moment before giving the painting, but went through with it anyway. The hand movement does not automatically mean it is Latias as Latias does not make that movement in the movie either. 
6. It is possible that Ash was the only person she knew, as she spends most of her time disguised or invisible.
7. Girls also tend to kiss you on the cheek when they are affectionate. Also, the girl did not lick him.  

Rebuttal to Bianca

1. They acted as friends. Not potential love interests.
2. It is impossible to say Latias was not a good artist as well. Or perhaps Bianca drew it and asked Latias to deliver it. The kiss may not have been expected
3. Latias may have been hyperventilating in nervousness or excitement 
4. May have been a coincidence and Bianca seemed to care more for Latios's condition after she was free. Speculation
5. Latias is a guardian, and it would be very awkward for the town to see their guardian in that situation. Also, Latias may not have wanted Ash to know it was her. Perhaps she was trying to set up Bianca. 
6. It's a cartoon. Anything can happen. Also it may have been a friendly kiss.
7. Latias would not take the hat in any case. Bianca may have simply forgot her hat this one time. 

Okay I messed up the format. The rebuttals should be reversed. 

But anyway, who do you think it is? My information isn't all the evidence that supports either pairing, but I tried to list the most popular reasons for each. My theory is that is was just a friendly kiss on  the cheek by Latias, much like how a dog licks you when it is happy. But I fully understand why others may think differently. 

And anyone who know anything should know that they shouldn't take my word for it. Watch it yourselves if you want to try and figure it out. Who knows? You might catch something the rest of the world missed.

One more thing: Brock's reaction to the kiss is priceless. Someone should make a GIF out of that.
